Brief
Tell the historical story of English woodtype designer Robert D. DeLittle in an engaging and contemporary way.

About Robert D. DeLittle
Born in 1858, DeLittle began his typographic journey as an apprentice in his father's printing business (F.R. DeLittle) in York. In 1885, he embarked on a voyage to Melbourne, Australia, where he developed and patented a technique for cutting "white letter" type. “White letter” type is produced by cutting out the letter shape on a woodblock and leaving the surrounding parts of the block to be printed with ink, resulting in a negative, reverse print where the letters are white and the border is black.
In 1888, DeLittle returned to York and established his woodtype business, selling "white letter" type. The flourishing business then rebranded as "Robert DeLittle's Wood Printer's Type Manufacturer" in 1899. Their high quality woodtypes found applications in theater bills, advertisements, and posters, ensuring the firm's operation across three generations until its closure in 1998 under Jim DeLittle.
